7 Tips To Stay Productive even if You are Feeling Tired

Did you know that productivity is naturally tied to your exhaustion level? They say you work best and stay productive when you are well-rested and had a good sleep.

What happens when at the end of the day when you are already very exhausted but still have a lot of work to do? When the only thing you can think about is your comfortable and warm bed waiting for you as soon as you get home. The quality of your work suffers, that is what.

A meal full of proteins, grains and some leafy greens is so important before you start work. Sugary treats can be tempting when you are tired. It is better to avoid the sugar rush, however, if you are really tempted then indulge yourself with a square of dark chocolate to be happier.

Do not skip your meal for the sake of work. When you forget to eat it will make your energy levels dip. As a result, your productivity will suffer.

Below are some tips which may help you to stay productive:

Get rid of your mobile phone

Mobile phones, tablets, gadgets distract us more than anything. The struggle to check your social media is real, especially when you have no time for it! It is bad enough that we check our phones a hundred times a day. When you are fatigued and unfocused, you are especially prone to distractions and mindless clicking on social media. We can manage so much more in general if we just try to stay away from the above-mentioned things.

Make a to do list

One of the steps to focus yourself on the task is to make a list of all the things you need to accomplish. Define your goals clearly. This will make them seem more achievable. First, list everything you need to do. A good way to keep yourself motivated as you work your way through the list is to arrange the list so that for every large task you complete, you complete two smaller ones.

Stay hydrated

Drink as much water as possible. When you are dehydrated, you become less productive. Water gives your body a great start, fuels your cells and your organs that end up fueling your entire body. Your body is like an engine that can never function properly without fuel.

Drink coffee or tea

What is better than a cup of good coffee or tea to wake you up? This will give you a nice push. Tea still has caffeine and will keep you on a constant role and help out with feeling tired. You can you also add a small slice of dark chocolate to become happier. When your Serotonin(the hormone of happiness)  levels are higher you are more likely to stay productive.

Wake your body up by exercise

To get the blood pumping and your metabolism up, do some push-ups and sit-ups as hard and fast as you can. This will wake you up quickly. If you are not into push-ups then go up and down the stairs for a few times. Another option is running in place. Choose what will make your heart rate up. Remember that any kind of physical activity can provide a much-needed adrenaline.

Listen to some music

Music plays a significant role for some people. If you choose the right music it will keep your mind alert. Having background noise stimulates your brain without distracting it. Instrumental and classical music are good choices. If it is with lyrics than better something that you do not know. Music can even help you to do your work faster.

Taking a short nap

Trust me, a short 20-minute power nap is better than a cup of espresso. If you have the opportunity, then take a nap during your lunch break. This will refresh your mind and restart your entire system. Go ahead set the alarm to very loud and go lie down for 20 to 25 minutes.

Do not forget about your reward at the finish line. Think up a small prize you will give yourself for completing each item on your to-do list. This will also keep you motivated. It can be anything you like: a chocolate bar, five minutes on Instagram or whatever else will keep you going.

The best thing you can do to stay productive is dissecting your process, and eliminating everything that makes you lose steam. Just try to figure out the underlying cause of your exhaustion instead of fighting the symptoms.

Hopefully, some of our tips or maybe all of them will help you to overcome fatigue and stay productive. Do not forget to be gentle with yourself. Good luck.
